Why San Diego Chooses Glowtox
See what patients have to say about their experience with Glowtox Aesthetics.
What Is Sculptra?
Sculptra is an injectable biostimulator made with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid fillers that provide immediate volume, Sculptra works gradually by stimulating your body's natural collagen production.
The goal is not to simply fill one isolated area. Sculptra can be used as part of a broader facial rejuvenation plan focused on structure, skin quality and natural-looking improvement over time.
Gradual rejuvenation: Results develop progressively rather than appearing suddenly.
Collagen stimulation: Treatment supports your body's own collagen production.
Natural facial balance: Your treatment plan is customized around your existing anatomy and areas of volume loss.
What Can Sculptra Help With?
Facial Volume Loss
Help improve the appearance of facial volume changes and restore a more supported look.
Collagen Loss
Stimulate collagen to support gradual improvement in facial structure and skin quality.
Facial Balancing
Treatment can be incorporated into a broader plan focused on proportion and natural-looking facial harmony.
Cheek Wrinkles
Sculptra may be used to improve wrinkles and changes in skin quality through the cheek area.
Smile Lines
Treatment may help improve the appearance of nasolabial folds as collagen develops over time.
Gradual Rejuvenation
Ideal for patients who prefer progressive improvement rather than an immediate, dramatic change.
Results That Develop Naturally
Sculptra isn't designed to create an overnight transformation. Instead, improvement develops gradually as your body produces new collagen.
This makes Sculptra especially appealing for patients who want to restore facial support and address volume changes without looking suddenly or noticeably “filled.”
Every Glowtox treatment plan is customized around your facial anatomy, existing proportions and aesthetic goals.
Sculptra After GLP-1 & Weight Loss
Significant weight loss can change facial volume and contours along with the rest of the body. Some patients using GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide or tirzepatide notice increased facial hollowness, reduced support or skin laxity as weight comes off.
These changes are sometimes casually called “Ozempic face,” but they are associated with significant weight loss rather than being unique to one medication.
For appropriate patients, Sculptra can be considered as part of a personalized treatment plan focused on gradually restoring facial support through collagen stimulation rather than simply adding filler to every area of volume loss. For a deeper look, read our article on restoring volume after GLP-1 weight loss.
Rebuild support: Address the appearance of facial volume changes after weight loss.
Stimulate collagen: Encourage gradual improvement using your body's own collagen response.
Maintain natural proportions: Treatment is based on how your individual face has changed.
Progressive results: Improvement develops over time instead of creating a sudden “filled” appearance.

Results That Still Look Like You
Our approach to Sculptra is focused on facial balance rather than simply adding more volume.
We evaluate where structural changes and collagen loss are occurring, then develop a treatment plan designed to create subtle, progressive improvement while respecting your natural features.
For some patients, Sculptra may be used on its own. For others, combining collagen stimulation with strategically placed dermal filler or other treatments may provide the most balanced result.
Sculptra vs. Traditional Dermal Filler
Sculptra and traditional hyaluronic acid fillers can both play important roles in facial rejuvenation, but they work differently.
Sculptra
How it works: Stimulates your body's natural collagen production.
Results: Develop gradually over time.
Best suited for: Broader structural rejuvenation, collagen support and gradual improvement.
Dermal Filler
How it works: Adds immediate volume using an injectable gel.
Results: Generally visible immediately, with swelling and settling afterward.
Best suited for: Precise contouring and targeted enhancement such as lips, cheeks, chin and jawline.
Neither treatment is universally better. Your Glowtox provider may recommend Sculptra, traditional filler or a combination depending on your goals. Learn more about dermal fillers →

Consultation

Personalized Treatment

Gradual Collagen Response
Any fullness right after treatment fades within a few days. Real improvement appears gradually over the next several weeks as your body builds new collagen, with full results about three months after your final session.
Treatment Series
Most patients complete 2 to 3 sessions spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart. Your provider will recommend the number of sessions and vials based on your goals.
