We review your health history and goals and confirm PRP is a good fit for you.
Blood Draw
A small sample of blood is drawn, much like a routine lab draw.
Preparation
The sample is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelet-rich plasma.
Treatment
PRP is applied during your microneedling treatment or placed in the scalp.
Aftercare
Expect some redness for a day or two. We'll send you home with aftercare instructions.
PRP FAQs
What is PRP?
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It's made by drawing a small amount of your blood and spinning it to concentrate the platelets, which carry growth factors involved in the body's natural repair process.
Where is PRP available?
PRP is offered at our Pacific Beach studio only, at 910 Grand Avenue, Suite 203. Microneedling with exosomes is available at both Pacific Beach and Solana Beach.
Should I choose PRP or exosomes with microneedling?
Both are added to microneedling to support skin renewal. PRP uses your own plasma and requires a blood draw; exosomes are a professional serum applied during treatment. Your provider will help you choose at your consultation.
Who is a good candidate for PRP?
Many healthy adults are good candidates. PRP isn't right for everyone, including people with certain blood or platelet disorders, so your provider reviews your health history before treatment.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients start with a series of three sessions spaced several weeks apart. Your provider will recommend a plan based on your goals.
Is there downtime?
Most people have redness and mild sensitivity for one to three days after microneedling with PRP. After a scalp treatment, you may notice some tenderness for a day or two.
